Ceramic Window Tint for Naples Heat
Cooler cabin, 99% UV blocked, legal shades, and no purple film two summers from now.
What Window Tint Actually Does
Window tint is a thin polyester film bonded to the inside of your glass. Cheap film just darkens it. Good film changes what gets through: visible light, ultraviolet, and infrared heat are three different things, and the film you choose determines how much of each it stops.
Heat rejection
Infrared is the heat you feel on your arm through the window. Ceramic film rejects a large share of it at the same shade a dyed film would just darken. That is the difference between an AC that keeps up and one that does not.
UV rejection
Every film we install blocks 99% of UV. That is what cracks dashboards, fades leather, and gives Florida drivers the left-arm sun damage dermatologists see every day.
Glare and privacy
Less glare off the Gulf and wet pavement, and what is in your car stays out of view in the parking lot.

Why It Matters in Southwest Florida
Naples runs above 90°F from May through October and the sun is high enough that the roof and rear glass take a beating, not just the windshield. A car parked at Waterside or the beach for two hours comes back with a 140°F cabin. Tint does not make that go away, but ceramic tint cuts the heat load enough that the car cools in minutes instead of a full drive home, and the interior stops aging twice as fast as the rest of the car.
Salt air and humidity also punish cheap film. Dyed tint fades to purple and delaminates at the edges within a few years here. That is why we only install films that are warrantied against exactly that.
Types of Tint We Install
Ceramic
Our standard recommendation. Nano-ceramic particles reject infrared heat without metal, so no signal interference and no reflective look. Highest heat rejection, longest life.
Carbon
A step below ceramic on heat rejection, still metal-free, still color-stable. A true matte black look that some customers prefer. Solid value if you mostly want the look and UV block.
What we do not install
Dyed and metalized film. Dyed film turns purple. Metalized film blocks cell, GPS, and SunPass signals. Neither is worth putting on a car you care about.
Available shades
VLT is the percentage of visible light the film lets through, so lower is darker. We stock 5%, 15%, 20%, 35%, 50%, and 70% to 80% for windshields. On most vehicles the popular legal setup is 28% or 35% up front and 15% or 20% in the rear.

Florida Window Tint Law
Florida Statute 316.2953 and 316.2954 set the limits. Reflectivity is capped at 25% front and 35% rear, which rules out mirror films. Medical exemptions exist for certain skin and eye conditions and require a form from your doctor.
| Window | Sedans / coupes | SUVs, trucks, vans |
|---|---|---|
| Windshield | Non-reflective film above the AS-1 line only (about the top 5 inches). Clear or near-clear ceramic films are the route to full-windshield heat rejection. | |
| Front side windows | 28% VLT or lighter | 28% VLT or lighter |
| Rear side windows | 15% VLT or lighter | 6% VLT or lighter |
| Rear window | 15% VLT or lighter | 6% VLT or lighter |
We install to these limits by default. If you ask for darker, we will tell you it is illegal and what the ticket looks like, then it is your call.
Windshield Tint
The windshield is the largest piece of glass on the car and it faces the sun. A 70% to 80% VLT ceramic film is nearly invisible, fully legal, and blocks more total heat than tinting all four side windows. If you drive I-75 or US-41 at 4pm, this is the single most noticeable upgrade. We also do the legal AS-1 visor strip in a darker shade.
Teslas and Luxury Vehicles
Teslas, Porsches, Range Rovers, and anything with a panoramic glass roof lose the heat battle through the roof, not the doors. We do full ceramic on roof glass and the one-piece Tesla rear window as a single panel, with no seams and no relay or rain-sensor interference. On luxury vehicles we hand-cut or plot every panel to the glass, protect the interior during install, and never use a razor on the glass or the door cards.

Our Process
- Quote by text. Send year, make, model, and what you want (shade, windshield yes/no). We reply same day with a price and a date.
- Drop off at the shop. 174 5th St, Naples. Morning drop-off, most cars done the same afternoon.
- Glass prep. Every window is cleaned inside and out, old film removed if present, and edges scraped so nothing sits under the film.
- Cut and shrink. Panels are cut and heat-shrunk to the curve of each window before they go on, so the film lays flat with no fingers or creases.
- Install and inspect. Film is applied, squeegeed, and edge-checked under light. You get care instructions and your warranty in writing.
Pricing
Window tint starts at $300 for a typical car in ceramic film.
The final number depends on vehicle and film, because a two-door coupe and a three-row SUV with a glass roof are not the same job. Windshield film and old-tint removal are quoted separately. Send us the vehicle and shade you want and you will have a firm number the same day, with the warranty terms on it.

Window Tint FAQs
What is the darkest legal tint in Florida?
For sedans: 28% VLT on front side windows, 15% on rear side and back windows. For SUVs, trucks, and vans: 28% front, 6% rear side and back. Windshields can only be tinted above the AS-1 line with non-reflective film. We install to Florida law on every vehicle and will tell you if a shade you want is over the line.
Is ceramic tint worth the extra cost over regular tint?
In Southwest Florida, yes. Dyed film only darkens the glass. Ceramic film rejects infrared heat, which is what you actually feel through the window in July. Same legal shade, noticeably cooler cabin, no signal interference, and it will not turn purple or bubble.
Does ceramic tint interfere with phone, GPS, or toll transponders?
No. Ceramic films contain no metal, so cell, GPS, satellite radio, keyless entry, and SunPass all work normally. Metalized films are the ones that cause problems, and we do not install them.
How long does window tinting take?
Most cars and SUVs are done in 2 to 4 hours. Full windshield adds time. Drop it off in the morning and it is ready the same afternoon.
How long before I can roll the windows down?
3 to 5 days. The film is still curing and rolling the window down early can lift the top edge. You may see slight haze or small water pockets in the first week. That is normal moisture working out of the film and it clears on its own.
Can you tint the windshield?
Yes. Florida allows a non-reflective strip above the AS-1 line, and a clear or very light ceramic film (70% to 80% VLT) on the full windshield that blocks heat and UV without darkening your view. Full windshield film is one of the most effective heat upgrades you can make in Naples.
Do you tint Teslas and other cars with large glass roofs?
Yes. Teslas, Rivians, and panoramic-roof vehicles benefit more than most because the glass roof lets in a lot of heat. We regularly do full ceramic on the roof and rear glass; Tesla rear windows are one-piece and are done as a single panel with no seams.
Will tint void my new-car warranty or damage the defroster?
No on both. Professionally installed film does not affect the manufacturer warranty. The film sits on top of the rear defroster lines and does not touch the electrical path.
Can you remove old, purple, or bubbling tint?
Yes. We steam the old film off, clean the adhesive residue completely, and install new film. Removal is priced separately because it can take longer than the install.
How much does window tint cost?
Starting at $300 for a typical car in ceramic film, all side and rear glass. SUVs, trucks, panoramic roofs, windshield film, and removing old tint add to that. Text the vehicle and shade and you will have a firm number the same day.
What is the warranty on your window tint?
The film we install carries a manufacturer warranty against bubbling, peeling, fading, and color change. Exact term depends on the film line you choose; we confirm it in writing on your quote before any work starts.
Pair It With
Tint handles heat through the glass. Paint takes the same sun. Most customers who tint also protect the exterior with a ceramic coating for UV and salt-air protection or Liquid PPF for rock chips and road rash, and we can do all three in one visit. If the paint is already swirled from years of car washes, paint correction comes first.
